World Mentoring Academy 2010 began with “free online learning” became an industry. Before the venture capital. Before the paywalls. Before the buzzwords.
In 2012 — the year the New York Times declared the “Year of the MOOC” — Driven by the belief that education shouldn’t require debt, Michael began shaping a new path to college and lifelong learning. It was something different. Something quieter. Something more radical. Something more durable.
While the major platforms raced toward scale, subscriptions, and corporate partnerships, Williams focused on a simple idea:
