World Mentoring Academy (WMA)

     Is a non-profit educational project offering massive open online courses MOOC. The organization was founded in April 2010 as and changed to World Mentoring Academy in June 2010 by American engineer Michael Williams "HomelessEducator" a graduate of California State University, Long Beach. With the stated mission of "Providing open education to the World", WMA offers free access to a collection of more than 20,000 online lectures from over 840 university & educational courses, teaching K-12, Trade School, undergraduate & graduate courses.


In 2010, World Mentoring Academy began using an open community Learning Management System (LMS) using available open courseware(OCW) materials from over 100 universities and educational institutions.


World Mentoring Academy's courses offers progress tracking, practice exercises, textbooks (Public Domain, where possible), and a variety of other tools for educators and students.The WMA website provides free access to a variety of online courses, including Humanities, Medicine, Biology, Social Sciences, Mathematics, Business, Computer Science, Foreign Languages, performance art, sports, and vocational. Each course includes a syllabus, video lectures, assignments, and testing. Of the 840 courses WMA currently offers, over 200 courses align with Credit-by-Exam (The College Board "AP/CLEP", Fed Gov. "DSST", NYU-SCPS programs, et al).

Automated testing, Peer-to-Peer tutoring through course forums, Chat, Skype, G+ Hangouts, etc.]. Textbooks and resources linked to Public Domain & College & Career guidance. Academic, Performing Arts, and Sport Competitions. Courses available 24/7. Courses available in 64 languages through YouTube "CC" and text translate browser support.
