Description: Course introduces the student to the discipline of Fixed Prosthodontics. The students will learn how this discipline relates to the specialty of Prosthodontics including philosophies, governance, and information sources. Principles of diagnosis and treatment planning of tooth replacement with fixed partial dentures will be emphasized. Prudent periodontal principles of pontic and connector design will be taught. Clinically oriented descriptions of fixed partial denture preparations, impressions, mounting, fabrication, and delivery will be take place. Students will also be introduced to the techniques of electrosurgery and CAD / CAM.
