Description: Outside of the obvious prize money of art competitions, grants & residencies help to validate your work. They show that a knowledgeable panel of experienced art professionals is interested in encouraging your practice. Getting grants is a big confidence builder and you often end up meeting other important contemporaries at the awards ceremonies or exhibitions that accompany the distribution of the prize or prizes. Grants also look great on your resume and speak volumes about your dedication to art practice. If you don't already have a list of the top ten or twenty grants you hope to capture in the coming years and decades, below you will find a list to get you started looking. And remember to keep in mind that no award is too big or to small to pursue. Every award is equally important to the life of the artist receiving it. #art #grant #contest # residency #competition #gallary #show
